3rd-4th Grades: Rabbit Trails Through Literature
This class is designed to show our 3rd and 4th graders how reading, grammar, and writing work together through literature. Students will learn writing and literacy skills through read-alouds, discussions, games, group activities, projects, and practice at home.
Using age-appropriate literature and integrated language instruction, our goal is to help our young students love learning! And to build a strong foundation that sets them on a path to becoming strong readers, confident writers, critical thinkers, skilled communicators, and independent learners.
All instructional materials will be provided.
5th-6th Grades: IEW Hybrid
This class will fuse together reading units, IEW writing, and Analytical Grammar to provide students with a well-rounded English course in preparation for middle school English. Reading books are still being determined.
Required student books: Discoveries in Writing and Analytical Grammar Level 1
7th-8th Grades: IEW Hybrid
This class will fuse together reading units, IEW writing, and Analytical Grammar to provide students with a well-rounded English course in preparation for high school. Reading books are still being determined. Students will learn to write with the Structure and Style writing method using the Journeys in Writing book, which covers topics such as Niagara Falls, Monet, and the symphony, while covering the nine IEW Units. In combination, Analytical Grammar will help them learn parts of speech, basic comma and capitalization rules, complex sentence patterns, and more.

9th - 10th Grade English: Character Builders
An Introduction to Literary Analysis and the 5-Paragraph Essay
This class will comprise one full English credit including literature and composition. This class will introduce the 5-paragraph essay with a strong emphasis on the academic thesis, enable students to identify and correct serious errors in their writing, discuss literary analysis, and complete various projects and essays based on reading. Honors option will be available. (8th grade students need approval from the teacher before registration)
11th - 12th Grade English: British Literature
This class will comprise one full English credit including literature and composition. Students will focus on British literature from early to modern works comprising poetry, plays, novels, short stories, and biographies. Students will learn to analyze literature for character, themes, and worldview. The class will continue to practice the 5-paragraph essay while learning to use the same structure in other lengths of writing. Several opportunities will also be given for creative writing. Honors options will be available.

French 2
A continuation of French 1, French 2 focuses on listening and speaking skills to learn grammar and vocabulary. New students will be required to pass a placement test before enrolling in French 2 . (9th grade or above only)

Art and Music Appreciation
Art and Music Appreciation is a 2-part course in which we will be exploring visual art and music from the standpoint of appreciation. We will be starting with the beginning of music and art – in Genesis – and will be exploring various historical classic masterworks from a Christian perspective. We will learn about foundational elements of art and music so that we can better appreciate what the artists and composers do with these elements. Students will be learning to look and listen with thoughtfulness, and to think beyond the colors and pitches to the ideas being communicated.
Art and Music Appreciation is a structured 1 credit course in which the class will work together each Monday as we learn about the week’s content with clear follow up assignments to guide the students’ independent work at home. Students will be reading, listening, looking, writing, and thoughtfully engaging in fine arts activities throughout this course. As schedules allow, the class will also have opportunities to attend local fine arts events for course credit. Honors option will also be available.

Earth Science and Astronomy for the Grammar Stage
Earth Science & Astronomy for the Grammar Stage provides a first-look at our planet and our solar system for the classical student. This homeschool science program includes plans for reading assignments from visually appealing encyclopedias, scripted hands-on demonstrations, and customized student notebooking options. Topics include Earth’s Features, Living Earth, Solar System, and Stars. Additionally, students will need (3rd Edition): DK First Earth Encyclopedia (2018 Edition) and DK First Space Encyclopedia (2016 Edition)

Earth Science and Astronomy for the Logic Stage
Earth Science & Astronomy for the Logic Stage leads the middle school student through a study of the key facts of earth science and astronomy by digging deeper than the Grammar Stage curriculum for younger students. This homeschool science program includes all student assignment sheets, sketches, experiment sheets, and blank report pages that they will need to complete the year. Each of the student assignment sheets contains the weekly topic, sketch assignment, experiment directions, report options, dates to enter, and memory work. Topics include Space, The Solar System, Our Planet, Rocks, and Weather. Additionally, students will need to purchase The Kingfisher Science Encyclopedia and The Usborne Science Encyclopedia.
General Science (7th and 8th Grades)
This General Science course gives students an understanding of the world that surrounds them so they can appreciate the real-world relevance of scientific inquiry and the beauty of Creation.

High School (9th-12th Grade)
Biology: The Riot and the Dance
The Riot and the Dance is biology like you’ve never seen it before. Intro to Forensics (Advanced Biology): Grades 10-12
Forensic science is a fascinating study of over twenty scientific disciplines offering investigative work to the judicial system. Master Books’ Intro to Forensic Science from a Biblical Worldview reveals God as the Author and Designer of science and the need for Christian investigators reporting to the judicial system. Scripture, case studies, and the knowledge of various scientific disciplines are taught throughout this one of a kind homeschool curriculum. *Students must have completed biology.*
Chemistry in the Kitchen (Grades 10-12 with Algebra and Biology prerequisite).
This unique and non-traditional chemistry curriculum teaches core chemical principles through cooking, baking, and hands-on experiments. It covers standard high school chemistry concepts and connects them to everyday life. Honors option available.
**Please note: While the students will not be assigned any reading with objectionable material, some of the books we are using do contain sexual content and subject matter parents may want to preview. Parents will be required to acknowledge that they understand this prior to class attendance
